First patch for Takedown will be available shortly and will address the following issues.
Connectivity and server status issues
- The correct exe will now run automatically depending upon your windows version (Win32/Win64)
- Servers will be displayed now in the Steam list to enhance visibility of games being played, plus accuracy of information being shown.
- TTS/Text to speech feature has been removed
- TAKEDOWN process now ends properly which will alleviate some server conflicts.
Anyone having problems with losing connection while playing Singleplayer has been advised to restart the game if you have attempted to play any Multiplayer before hand for the time being.
Sam Saves The Day - Custom Chat

DarkSynopsis has been playing with Takedown Red Sabre and has discovered how to abuse Microsoft SAM (the ingame text to voice) to give us some simple Team Commands (Voice Only - AI will not to react to this). By modifying your DefaultInput.ini you can assign new hotkeys that can enable SAM to speak.
Here is an example video of it working in game.

So today has seen the release of Takedown: Red Sabre and that means it is time for you to gear up and head out. As with all gamers we had heard how challenging this was meant to be, but secretly thought it can't be that tough. So here is a video showing our attempt at Biolab.
The good news is we have enjoyed the challenge and are quite pleased with how the game tries to recapture that squad based feeling of yesteryear. The movement felt robust and the environments substantial. We could see ourselves playing this for ages.
The bad news for Serellan however is that the launch of the game has been a bit of a fiasco. The in-game multiplayer server browser being the main issue. Players are having trouble hosting and joining sessions, along with the facts that the games that do appear in the list are not always responding to being selected. The server browsers also reports all game as having zero players in them.
There are further problems with glitchy menus and a few audio issues. As usual however Serellan and 505 Games have responded quickly asking the fans to be patient while they work on the issues. This game has the potential to be the hardcore shooter a lot of fans have been waiting for, and with time hopefully Serellan can turn these issues around.
Another blow for Serellan fans was the Launch party that never got off of the ground. The team have said they will spend time getting the game fixed and reschedule the party for another time. Keep your eyes on their forums for that info, along with any updates about solutions and patches.
Were keeping the faith here at Tactical Ape that this can turn out to be a great game, if the support keeps coming.

Takedown Red Sabre XBLA Delayed
Posted by CraftyReaper \ Posted in Takedown News 0 Comments
There has been an announcement over on the Serellan forums that the XBox Live Arcade version of Takedown Red Sabre has been delayed due to a bad error message when you unplug your router while joining a game. The team have already fixed this issue and are resubmitting the new build for certification. Serellan will keep people informed of the new release date as they get it.
