Patch #3 Releases

Patch #3 is finally upon us and here is the final list of changes/new features.

New Features

  • Support for Steam Quickmatch, allowing you to quickly hop into games utilizing NAT traversal

  • Support for Valve Anti-Cheat

  • Added “Team Messages” VO & Text Hotkeys (Z + Number Keys)

    6. Frag Out

    7. Holding Position

    8. Man Down

Online & Steam Functionality

  1. Steam/UE3 Authentication Updates to improve connectivity

  2. You will no longer be required to be logged into Steam to save your Loadout settings

  3. Fixed insertion point selection when not logged into Steam

  4. When playing against someone who has not yet installed a patch (or if you haven't installed the latest available patch yourself), you should now have a more accurate message (instead of referencing a "downloadable content" mismatch)

  5. Steam language selection should now function correctly

  6. Removed Router message when unable to locate server


Gameplay Updates & Bug Fixes

  1. Fix for camera collision in spectate mode in certain areas related to relative Z position of map

  2. Many doors have been closed in various locations

  3. Players joining a co-op mission in progress (after 1 minute) will be set to spectate

  4. Named Loadouts “Recon, Assault, Breach, Sniper”

  5. Provided a suppressor to Squad Mate Charlie

  6. Team AI accuracy and response time increased

  7. Increased Grenade Damage Range

  8. Added audio indicators (beeps) to bombs in Att/Def to more easily locate them

  9. Modify Loadouts button changed to “Save Loadouts”

  10. UI no longer shows incorrect player counts in Last Man Standing

  11. In Radar Base in Last Man Standing game mode, missing doors have been fixed

  12. Body Armor mismatch fix for some characters

  13. Fixed Audio Call for MP5SD that was causing it to sound unsuppressed

  14. Fix for several Tango Hunt & Bomb Disarm Player Spawn points

  15. Double Door Spawn on some Facility variants fixed

  16. Updated several mis-translations in the Spanish version

  17. Bomb in Biolab: Lab now properly lit

  18. Misc. Localization fixes

Upcoming Patch #3

Third Takedown Update is in the works and below is a list of anticipated fixes.

  • Steam/UE3 Authentication Updates to improve connectivity
     
  • You will no longer required to be logged into Steam to save your profile settings (Loadouts/Insertions)
     
  • Provided a suppressor to Squad Mate #3 - based on forum feedback

  • HQ Alley: host should no longer spawn next to the Defender

2nd Patch Released For Takedown

Serellan have managed to get a second patch for Takedown out, update your game through Steam inthe usual way. Here are the fixes posted by Stadler in the Official Forums.

  • LOD’s and supporting code adjusted to resolve the odd eyeball/hand stretching issues with dead bodies.
     
  • Implemented fix to reduce single player games abruptly ending with message prompt “Your connection to the host has been lost.” after attempting to join an MP game issue.
     
  • UI fix for loadouts displaying options in their inappropriate slots.
     
  • Fixed DLC bug related to players unable to join servers due to DLC mismatch.
     
  • UI Fix for debug text “null’ displaying on the AAR screen.
     
  • UI Fix for “AAA:BBB” being displayed on waiting to load screen.
     
  • UI fix for server browser (lobby) games not refreshing upon clicking refresh button.
     
  • Single Player extraction zones increased and should now properly complete while playing with Squad AI.
     
  • All HQ extraction zones near all gates properly function.

Stadler goes on to talk about the teams triage process to addressing further issues.

"There are still issues outstanding that we want to address, and some of the more critical issues require more time to implement.  As a part of what we call the Triage process, we take into consideration several factors when determining which fix to adopt:

  • Ease of fix
  • Impact of fix on other areas
  • Length of time to implement
  • Severity of the issue
  • Etc."

They are continuing to monitor forums for problems with the game, so if you have one that has not been discussed head there and post your machine specs, your problem and any information you can give the team on how the problem occurs (what you were doing at the time).

First Patch Release

The first round of fixes has begun with the Hotfix Update Patch 1. Serellan have already indicated that there will be further patches in the weeks to come. Here are the details of this one.

Fix List:

  • Steam client launcher [PLAY] button will now launch a batch file that properly loads the 32bit or 64bit version of the game based on the player's Windows operating system. This should fix many connection issues.
  • Added Steam Server list support. To view in Steam, Click View (from the top) > Servers > CHANGE FILTERS: Takedown Red Sabre. Note: we are currently working on a subsequent patch to even further increase the accuracy of the server information shown.
  • Fixed certain player audio input from not being heard by enemy AI, causing unresponsiveness.
  • TTS (Text-To-Speech) feature has been disabled due to player abuse.
Also in regard to the pre-order offer, it seems that folks who pre-ordered by third party are having difficulty seeing the unlocked Killhouse content. We are working through this issue with Valve and should hopefully have a solution shortly. If you have a pre-order code and have entered it, please follow this process to access your unlocked content.



1. Choose Play > Single Player
2. Choose GAME MODE > Tango Hunt > MAP > Killhouse

Note that some user may experience minor text errors on loading screens, this will be addressed in the next update.

UPDATE: If you are having issues with your server being shown in the Steam Server Browser, please ensure port number 7777 is open.

Creativer Director Talks About Launch Issues

Over on Co-Optimus they have managed to score an interview with Creative Director Christian Allen, concerning the delay of the XBox release and some of the launch issues that have troubled the PC Version.

Christian goes on to discuss the games development saying " I am proud that we stuck to the core values of the gameplay and throughout the Kickstarter and development process we did not bow to pressure to change the fundamentals of the vision."
