Hello everyone! and specially you, DarkSynopsis. Long time no see  ;D

Is been a while since the last time I was here. So I'll go straight to the point.

I've been working on a Rainbow Six Arcade Remake, nothing realistic but not as arcade as Doom; something in the middle. After some work I think the game is in an acceptable alpha state, so I think it's worth that people give it a try and recieve some feedback, right?

I want to start sharing the demo here on Tactical Ape forums since is a site dedicated to Tactical Shooter games. I don't claim my game to be a full tactical shooter, I see it as a 'Tactical Arcade Shooter'. A faster pace than Raven Shield but slower than Lockdown. Simple gameplay, straight to action. (Very much like Takedown: Red Sabre).

I'ts been made in Unity + Rain AI + UFPS Assets. 'Opening doors' and 'loading screen' scripts not made by me but found them on the net. Used original textures, character models and sounds from original Rainbow Six games. Sorry for the crappy animations ;)

Here are some screenshots:

And here's the download link! Hope you enjoy it!

SWAT 3 General Discussion / Re: Faulty Nvidia Drivers with Swat 3

Not really a surprise, we are some what lucky there was any support still happening, believe I just read recently that Blizzard won't be supporting XP/Vista any more, got to move forward at some point.

At least we have options like dgVoodoo that at least with SWAT 3 on my end works a treat!

Just a quick update to this thread.

Both Nvidia and Microsoft seemed to have dumped support for old games like this.   Your best option is to use apps like dgVoodoo.

CTU General Discussion / Now on Steam
« Last post by DarkSynopsis on April 22, 2016, 08:03:23 PM »
Game launched on Steam today, not sat down and gave it a solid try yet but a quick look in the menus revealed a Level Editor so you can build custom maps!

Game seems to support Steam Workshop, and looks like custom maps are stored in "Steam\steamapps\common\CTU Counter Terrorism Unit\CTU_64b_Data\Maps_Custom".

If the community wants another place to host maps either for backup reasons or just not fond of Steam Workshop for whatever reason we are happy to do so.

Had to tell about the size, might feel a little big but might not be an issue once filled out with props, as for the loading time I wouldn't worry about, initial run of the map takes awhile to load due to building the shader cache for the materials, just booting it up again I was in within seconds.

I think the notifications will only go off for the first post you haven't seen.
